The M-NAV 950 is Navman Wireless’ fully integrated driver facing display. Key features include two-way messaging, job dispatch, navigation, Driver ID, forms and a licence management system all in one package. It uses an Android operating system and features a 6.1″ touch screen attached to a windscreen-mounted dock in the vehicle (Optional Fixed Dash Mount). The touch screen facilitates customisable pre-set forms to be sent two-way between the office and the driver, allowing for accurate communication and reduced misunderstandings.
As an example, M-NAV 950 forms could include Pre start check lists, Journey plans, Dispatch or routing and Delivery Receipt with signature capture. All communications are read receipted as standard.
M-NAV 950 messaging is simple and allows pre-set forms or job dispatches to be read / accepted by the driver, as well as free-text messages able to be sent two-ways between the office-based administrator and the driver. All forms and prompts can be customised as necessary to meet operational requirements. Signature capture capability of the M-NAV 950 allows forms to be completed, sent through to the office electronically, and paperwork significantly streamlined. The M-NAV 950’s navigation capability allows location-specific routing to be sent in a message directly to the driver from the office. The benefit with routing, and especially being able to message directly through to the M-NAV 950, means the driver keeps moving – reducing wasted time getting lost, going to the wrong location, reading maps or taking a non-approved route.
It also provides more accurate ETA calculations, with the office being able to see exactly how far the driver is away from their destination, improving the customer service experience.
Making driving safer
The M-NAV 950 is an excellent visual alerting tool for almost anything such as over-speeding, points of interest along the route, rest breaks (fatigue management by tracking operating hours) and time taken on each task. Drivers can also use the phone option to pair the M-NAV 950 with a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone to receive hands-free phone calls. With the M-NAV 950’s Driver ID capabilities, the driver can be prompted for their unique ID code upon ignition. It is then recorded in DIRECTOR for driver behaviour reporting and trip activity reports. Driver IDs can also include the driver’s licence details, sending an immediate alert to the manager should an unlicensed driver attempt to drive a vehicle they are not licensedto, and serious health and safety breaches can be mitigated on the spot.
